Tots & Teapots Play Café on Wells Road in Knowle is tailored for families with young children looking for a relaxed spot that combines light dining and playtime under one brightly lit roof. It’s the sort of place where parents and toddlers can comfortably coexist, with separate areas that cater both to active soft play and more gentle, imaginative fun.

The café manages to strike a balance between a thoughtfully designed environment for kids and a welcoming area for grown-ups. Parents can settle in nearby while their little ones explore safely within padded zones or enjoy the curated selection of toys. This setup makes it easy for carers to join in the play or simply watch with a coffee in hand.

Food and drinks reflect the family-friendly vibe—there’s a range of straightforward but well-executed paninis and jacket potatoes that suit both adults and kids, alongside snacks and drinks catering to the little ones. The kids’ hot chocolate, in particular, comes up as a nice touch, adding a bit of magic to the visit. Cakes and coffee options give parents a reason to linger, making it more than just a quick stop.

Atmosphere-wise, the interior feels fresh and unobtrusive, with plenty of space to accommodate groups without feeling crowded. Sessions help regulate the flow and keep the environment manageable, which means during busier times there's a good rhythm of arrivals and play without chaos. This also means that first-timers can get a clear idea of how to navigate their visit with little stress.

Visitors tend to be local families with toddlers and preschoolers, often dropping in during mid-mornings or early afternoons—prime times for little ones to burn energy and for parents to catch up or relax in a kid-friendly context. The location in Knowle is convenient for residents nearby looking for a safe, clean, and thoughtfully run play café experience that combines nourishment and fun without overwhelming noise or overstimulation.

In essence, Tots & Teapots thrives as a steady, community-focused play café where the focus is squarely on real-world use: parents want to meet, kids want to play, and both want an environment that supports easy, comfortable togetherness over good coffee and simple food.

An absolutely beautiful play cafe! The space is so brilliantly designed with two nearby yet independent areas: a welcoming play area with thoughtfully curated toys selection, as well as a padded area for kids to move their little bodies. Wide selection of food and drinks for the young and young-at-heart, and they have the cutest kids’ hot chocolate ever! Facilities are all designed with the little ones in mind, with changing areas, high chairs and step stools. The team is so friendly and helpful - a kind lady offered us board games when she noticed we were mainly seated at the table. Top notch service and absolutely a gem of a kids cafe. Highly recommended!

Today myself and my sister visited with our 2.5 year olds, we never visited before so didn’t really know what we were doing but a member of staff came over and explained that there are sessions, we waited for the slot and then they let us go in. It was beautifully decorated, lovely toys, lovely atmosphere, amazing food and drinks. Our kids loved it!! They did not want to go also the other mums / guardians were so lovely and it really held community vibes today. It was brilliant for my little girl who can get overwhelmed in loud, busy, chaotic environments, the vibe was beautiful, relaxing, calm and the toys were fab amazing variety and they loved everything! Overall, I could not recommend more and we hope to be regular visitors thank you from myself and my sister xx

Such a gorgeous play cafe! My son especially loved the area of softplay and didn’t want to leave. They offered a good range of drinks and snacks both for adults and children. There was so much for the children to do and my son loved his time here. Highly recommend for toddlers.

Our family visited Tots & Teapots this past weekend, having eagerly awaited their opening after a full redevelopment of the site. We were not disappointed! They have both a soft play area and a more general play area - all new toys and equipment, with lots of room for parents to join in, or sit on the floor nearby. Our two year old thoroughly enjoyed herself. We ate lunch there too, which was great value and really tasty. Plenty of seating, but be prepared to share a table as many are 4 seaters. We took the opportunity to speak to other families, which was nice. Considering it was their opening weekend, it was difficult to fault the team. They didn’t tell us about the cubby holes to store our shoes and bags, which would have really helped, otherwise service was perfect. The whole setup seems very well thought out and very practical. It got quite noisy - unsurprising, really, but some soft furnishing could help with that. Also, seating (for breast feeding) wasn’t particularly plentiful, so that could be improved. We booked ahead, and would suggest that is essential. Well worth a visit, we certainly will be coming back again.

Visited tots and Teapots for the first time yesterday after seeing this place slowly come together in passing on wells road What a brilliant place! Parents can enjoy a lovely clean bright and safe play area with there children while enjoying lovely coffee and amazing cake (carrot cake was top notch!) Me, my fiancée and daughter absolutely adored this place and will be back many more times I will also being adding it today to Bristolguide.co.uk as Bristol needs to know about tots and Teapots! I was amazed to see the level of thinking that has gone into this place all sorts of toys as well as a soft play for all ages even babies, amazing to see that in the toilets they have spare baby wipes and sanitary towels for the ladies, after visiting most of Bristol's soft plays and cafes I can tell you that's a first! My only criticism and it's not aimed at the premises is there are limited amounts of tables some with 4 seats, I know people want there own space have a seat and table Edit, visited for a second time and again a visit worth 5 stars, they were fully booked but everyone had there own table and it wasn't as crowded This time I went to the morning session and it was a little cold (wrap up warm) but other than that thoroughly enjoyable for the children

Ive been here twice and what a wonderful spot for a 2-3 year old!! I love that theres a role play area and then a soft play area my daughter enjoyed both and even made some lovely little friends for the duration of the session. I found the staff could be a tad warmer but on the whole its such a lovely vibe.
